Kauri Mountain Northland Wedding | Katie + Andy

Overpowering coastal views, endless laughs, wild winds, wilder dance moves, a golden sunset and so much love. Katie and Andy's wedding had it all, and in the most perfect way possible!

After some pretty crazy venue hunting, the bride and groom chose Kauri Mountain Estate in Northland for their big day.  A sprawling estate, framed by jaw-dropping cliffs overlooking the ocean and under the most perfect Pohutukawa tree to say their “I Dos”, it's safe to say their guests were in for a real treat.

Having been engaged for 7 years, this event was some time in the making, and endless amounts of time and love had gone into making each and every little detail just perfect. From hand-painted signs and all white floral arrangements which covered the tables, to a handmade bar and the most mouth watering grazing table, the day was absolutely jam packed with amazing DIY details and styling.

The reception was held open-air style, with guests seated at long banquet tables framed by strings of festoon lights. A stunning sight! After feasting on delicious mains (rolled pork belly - hells yeah!), we snuck Katie and Andy away for a few sunset shots amongst the rolling hills only a short stumble away.  The night finished off with some pretty great dance moves under the night sky, no doubt followed by a few sore heads in the a.m.

Matakana Stables | Katy + Nick

Winter wedding anyone? Katy + Nick got hitched a few weeks back in the old Whangateau hall and for those who don't know this space...it oozes with so much character and goodness we didn't know how to contain our excitement. So we just didn't. A few minor hiccups in the morning didn't seem to phase these two so we gauged pretty quickly we were in for freaking good day. And that we had! The reception was held in Matakana surrounded by their nearest and dearest with some of the most hilarious speeches we've heard to date. Conclusion - we dig winter weddings. Get amongst!

Big ups to the team for putting such an amazing day together - Muck Floral , Kaitlin Chapman Hair + Makeup and the lovelies from Two Foxes Styling for the finer details.

Rustic Barn Wedding - Caleb + Ellen

Caleb + Ellen's wedding had everything you'd want in a rustic outdoor affair. Barn? Check. An abundance of trees? Uh huh. Sprawling landscape? Erm, yes! Enough space for plenty of amazing décor and DIYs. Exactly why after researching several venues, they were sold on the Red Barn in the beautiful Waikato. The views overlook the stunning Hinuera Valley and continue to look down onto Lake Karapiro in the distance. One heck of a backdrop! Not to mention the immaculate landscaped gardens and insanely large outdoor fireplace which was so perfect for their April wedding. Mix in a bouquet overflowing with pom pom dahlias, pink ice proteas, succulents, pink snowberries, cascading green fern and amaranths, and we're in business. It pretty much ticked all the boxes and it's not hard to see why. I mean, who wouldn't want to get hitched under a tree surrounded by your nearest and dearest. Everything was just perfect for these two, including the weather.  As the sun was setting folks were sharing stories over the mic, the beers were flowing and the chicken (wrapped in crispy bacon) was slowly roasting gearing up for dinner. Glorious. The evening wound up to a dancing session by the fireplace in which we said our goodbyes and best wishes shortly after.  11-04-15. It was a good day!

P.s Just incase you were wondering, yep Ellen wore her Mothers wedding dress that she had altered. So good.

Country shindig | Michael + Sophie

Michael and Sophie. World travellers, sailors, fishermen, barn builders and now these two can add being husband and wife to their long list of amazing things they have accomplished together. We were so excited to document their big day, and to find out they were getting married on their family farm on Northlands East Coast was pretty darn special. The day was filled with howling laughs, the highest of high fives and hooting humans in every direction. Oh the celebrations! Michael and Sophie wanted everyone to let their hair down and have a good ol' hoedown, well that they did. And very well. Garden vibes overlooking the bay, endless local brews flowing, hilarious speeches, sweet golden light and numerous dance offs ensured everyone helped kick start what will be one heck of a marriage.

Rugged West Coast wedding | Zac + Kate

Zac and Kate wed under a homemade archway made from driftwood with an amazing backdrop of Muriwai's Maori Bay. The rain clouds left just in time for Kate's father to walk her down the path and across the rich black sand to give her away. The bride looked simply stunning in a creative spin on a traditional wedding dress, which was ever so fitting for their beach theme. You couldn't dream up a more perfect beach wedding if you tried. There were countless amounts of handmade details that were put into this day by all who surrounded them.

Zac and Kate both grew up in Muriwai on Auckland's ruggedly beautiful West Coast. Growing up in a small community together, it wasn’t until one night when Zac's "sweet dance moves" caught her attention that she couldn't keep her eyes off him… according to Zac. Unbeknown to the couple, Kate's sisters had actually been planning their marriage a year before they had even got together. A story that was meant to be. After a year of dating, Zac couldn't wait any longer and with a very sweet touch, proposed to Kate on the cliff tops overlooking their backyard where they were soon to be married.

The reception was held at Kate's beautiful family home. Not only was their home built by her father, but he also hand crafted all the tables, chairs and finer woodwork items made especially for their big day. So much love! They celebrated the joining of these two souls and shared a few drinks overlooking the magical backdrop of Muriwai at sunset. Perfection.

A big thanks for having us along. We hope you two have the most amazing adventure in Mexico.

F & P xx

French Mediterranean shipyard | Brad + Em

Meet Brad and Em, these two lovers met travelling the globe and fell head over trainers in love. Luckily for us, they ended up inviting us to shoot them in the South of France. (Heck yes for F & P!!). We shot this loved up couple in an abandoned ship yard building on dusk, it literally had it all... climbing fences, sneaking past security guards, a confused old lady who we discovered had been feeding the pigeons here for the past 30 years, random stray dogs and more confused locals - only for it to finish with the security guards winning the battle. Humph. Who cares when we got the shots, had a heck of a lot of laughs and went home with a story to tell. Here it is...

Simply San Sebastián, a Spanish backdrop | Dan + Monica

Dan who is from the elegant city of Bucharest, the capital of Romania first met Monica whilst they were living in Barcelona. These two, we kid you not, are two of the happiest humans we've ever met. They've since relocated to San Sebastián where they've set up an amazing home with doors that open onto the beautiful Spanish coastline and Tapas bars which line the cobbled streets in every direction. We were in heaven! Like two kids with a few scoops of goodie gum drop ice-cream, we oh so excitedly set off to capture their love story amongst this stunning city. What a life! We couldn't stop these two from smiling, it's definitely obvious these lovers are head over heels for each other. We wish them the craziest Mexican/Romanian celebrations when they tie the knot in May.

A city of sails engagement shoot, Auckland | Kirå + Fletch

Take a rugged Kiwi lad and a dainty German gal and you have yourself one pretty perfect match.  Meet Kirå and Fletch, a pair that quietly chuckle at each others dry jokes and share a love which started while they were travelling abroad. Mention the words boat, sun downers and adventure, or any one of the above and we're sold...who cares in which direction, you can count us in. When these two mentioned an engagement shoot we were already eager, then Fletch threw in his old mans yacht into the equation and off we went. Jackpot! These two ended their evening in a row boat (how cute!!) while we continued to sip on our beverages...and take a few cheeky snaps along the way. Thanks for the mission guys!
